During the first years of the independent state, Czechoslovak units assisted in establishing its territory and final borders. Almost all field post offices were operating in the Slovak and Carpathorussian part of Czechoslovakia. Due to the limited extent of the regular field post service, much military mail was also posted at civil post offices.
